Aladdin at DCA’s Hollywood Studios Backlot

We had just enough time to get to the next performance of the Aladdin musical at the Hyperion Theatre in Disney’s California Adventure, Hollywood Studios Backlot.
It isn’t in those theaters — they are just phony sets.
That’s the right theater with the current showtimes on the marquee, but not where we were supposed to enter…
The actual entrance is around the corner, closer to the Tower of Terror, and up a long flight of stairs. We needed to hurry to not miss the start of the show, so we climbed many steps as fast as we could. Then we came to an escalator — but it wasn’t working, so we had to climb up them, too. We must have climbed up three or four stories worth of steps! The shot above was taken when we got to the top. That’s where we were told to go to enter for seats: the very top of the balcony. Luckily, they had just opened the balcony to Guests so we were then able to go down to the balcony’s front row where we had great seats. I was panting from the hurrying and climbing, however!
Please keep your shoes and socks on in the theater, folks!
I think I wasn’t the only one a little tired by the strenuous climb. At least we kept our shoes and socks on.
Looks like it is just about time for the Aladdin show to start.
The Cave of Wonders
One jump ahead of the breadline
Captured!
Genie appears
So many Genies!
A gigantic elephant with Aladdin (Prince Ali) riding on top of it enters and walks all through the audience!
Jasmine and Aladdin really fly around on a flying carpet!
They even go out over the audience!
Bravo! Bravo!
