Star Wars Weekends 2011

From StarWars.com…

Star Wars Weekends 2011 will be held at Disney’s Hollywood Studios every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from May 20-June 12.

A complete and more detailed Star Wars Weekends celebrity lineup will be announced soon, but here are two fan-favorites returning for 2011:

Anthony Daniels, known worldwide for his portrayal of everyone’s favorite protocol droid, C-3PO, will return this year for Weekend 1 (May 20-22) and Weekend 2 (May 27-29).

Ashley Eckstein, the voice of Ahsoka Tano, in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, will appear each weekend this year as Celebrity Host of a behind-the-scenes talk show entitled “Clone Wars: Behind the Force.” Ashley is no stranger to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Ashley, who grew up in central Florida, had one of her first show-business roles as a parade performer at the theme park.

Disney’s Magical Fireplace

Disney Magical Fireplace
I hope I’m not turning into a Scrooge, but I find the Disney’s Magical Fireplace DVD very lame.

Here is what Disney writes about it:

Disney’s Magical Fireplace
· Disney brings the magic of the season into your home with this exclusive virtual Yule Log DVD.
This DVD also features two separate audio tracks – natural crackling fire sounds and a great holiday music soundtrack that includes two favorites by Mickey and the Gang. Bring some Disney magic to your fireplace – it makes the perfect stocking stuffer for the holidays!

I’ve seen the basic idea before, and I think most of you have, too… An endless-loop video of a roaring fire in a home fireplace. Disney has “plussed” it with a bad-looking Tink CGI flying around (apparently not even using the newer, better-looking depiction of her from the newer Tinker Bell sequels), plus fireworks. Fireworks inside a fireplace? Kids, don’t try this at home! There are Hidden Mickeys inside the fireplace, a thought that’s very disturbing to me: Maybe Judge Frollo enjoys imagining cartoon characters in fire, but nobody in my Mouse House does.

You can choose to hear either of two different audio tracks. One is a standard soundtrack of a roaring fire. The other track features old, repurposed Christmas songs, Disney-style.

I’m sure some people will like this, but not me. What do you think about it? If your computer is Flash-enabled, check out the short video about it here. Reply if you agree with me or if you think I’m a bit too much “Bah humbug!” about it.

Disney Cruise Line – Castaway Cay

Disney Cruise Line – Castaway Cay.

I edited this video on iPhone 4 using iMovie for iPhone, then uploaded it to YouTube in HD directly from iPhone via Pixelpipe.

Notice the small emoji (picture characters or emoticons used in Japanese text messages) stars in the opening and closing titles. This is only possible when editing in iMovie directly on iPhone rather than on the Mac version of iMovie.

New Official Disney Parks iPhone App Features Augmented Reality And Official Wait Times

Disney Park App

Disney’s first official iPhone park app is available now for free in the Apple App Store. It looks great, is easy to navigate, and is the first Disney parks app to show official wait times for attractions and — get this — augmented reality using geolocation and your iPhone camera (more on that later).

The only trouble with the app is . . . Read more

TRON Legacy

It is in the “Blue Sky” phase, meaning that WDI is thinking up concepts for a TRON attraction for Disneyland’s Tomorrowland.

About the Disney Echo

This website is not affiliated with any part of The Walt Disney Company.

The Disney Echo at DisneyEcho.emuck.com is your interactive online magazine to discover new wonders and share magical Disney memories.

The display on this page is set up to show the posts in reverse chronological order of when they were posted originally, so if you want to read the reports from the beginning, go to the last post on the last page and work forward. The first entry about the Koster family's July 2008 Disneyland trip can be found by clicking here and the first entry about their Easter 2008 Disneyland trip can be found by selecting this link.

That link goes to the very first travel-related article on this website: Welcome to our Trip Report.

The entry made after that first one is found after clicking the link named "Our Vacation Plans At-A-Glance" and that link is found above and below the first entry.

The third entry is similarly found after clicking the link above and below the second one, where the link is named "Packing Up"

One can read all the travel-related entries in the order they were posted by going to the next entry and the next entry the same way. Otherwise, this website defaults to displaying the most-recently-posted entries followed by older entries below it on the page as well as on the pages after it.
