Electrical Parade: Blue Fairy

After going to the El Capitan Theater followed by Disney’s ice cream shop next door and a walk along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, we returned in time to go to California Adventure Friday night (first time all trip) and got in a 70-minute line for Soarin’ Over California. Loved it! Just as we got out of Soarin’, the Main Street Electrical Parade Disney’s Electrical Parade was about to start, so we were lucky and got to see it in its entirety! The Blue Fairy still starts off the parade. After the parade we saw a bit of the Animation attraction at Hollywood Studios Backlot, then Mike and Sully to the Rescue was a walk-on so we did that, which turned out to be our last attraction at DCA and the Disneyland Resort.

Midnight on Main Street, Disneyland

We managed to see/do most things. It’s a Small World and Carousel closed for refurb. Not interested in Princesses so didn’t spend time at Princess Fantasy Faire except for a quick look. We saw the daytime parade, fireworks and Fantasmic. We missed riding Rocket Jets and Splash Mountain and Honey I Shrunk the Audience. Still haven’t set foot in California Adventure! We didn’t sail on the Columbia yet. We met up with another e-friend and husband and family.

But we did meet up with Maynard! Famous for being a Ghost Host at Haunted Mansion and skipper on Jungle Cruise, he has his own fans among Disneyland goers. We met him hosting at the Steve Martin 50th Anniversary movie off of Main Street. Our iPhones were recharging at the Photo Shop so no photos, sad to say.

Today we see Michael Broggie, son of Roger Broggie — Walt’s first Imagineer and who worked with Walt. Michael now helps maintains Walt’s trains. We’ll see “College Road Trip” at the El Capitan Theatre. We’ll attempt to see Walt’s grave. Try to fit in seeing the Columbia and some of California Adventure. Today Friday 3/28/08 is our final full day. Flight out to Houston from John Wayne Airport leaves at 8 Saturday morning, tomorrow.

This website is not affiliated with any part of The Walt Disney Company.

The Disney Echo at DisneyEcho.emuck.com is your interactive online magazine to discover new wonders and share magical Disney memories.

The display on this page is set up to show the posts in reverse chronological order of when they were posted originally, so if you want to read the reports from the beginning, go to the last post on the last page and work forward. The first entry about the Koster family's July 2008 Disneyland trip can be found by clicking here and the first entry about their Easter 2008 Disneyland trip can be found by selecting this link.

That link goes to the very first travel-related article on this website: Welcome to our Trip Report.

The entry made after that first one is found after clicking the link named "Our Vacation Plans At-A-Glance" and that link is found above and below the first entry.

The third entry is similarly found after clicking the link above and below the second one, where the link is named "Packing Up"

One can read all the travel-related entries in the order they were posted by going to the next entry and the next entry the same way. Otherwise, this website defaults to displaying the most-recently-posted entries followed by older entries below it on the page as well as on the pages after it.
